2014 Soup Supper & Candidate Forum a Success!!
The 2014 Washington County Soup Supper & Candidate Forum was a huge success with over 185 people and candidates in attendance. After a welcome from Chairman John Orr and an Invocation from former Governor Kay Orr, attendees enjoyed homemade soup and desserts while talking with candidates. Also in attendance was U.S. Senator Deb Fischer and candidate for State Board of Education Pat McPherson. 2014 Soup Supper photo album. Candidates for U.S. Senate: Sid Dinsdale, Clifton Johnson, Bart McLeay, Shane Osborn, Ben Sasse. U.S. Congressman Jeff Fortenberry. Candidates for Nebraska Attorney General: Brian Buescher, Pete Pirsch, Clay Peterson spoke on behalf of his father Doug Peterson. Nebraska State Senator Lydia Brasch and candidate for legislature Scott Japp. Candidates for Washington County attorney: Neleigh Boyer and Scott Vander Schaaf. Washington County Sheriff Mike Robinson and candidate for sheriff Don Morgan. Candidates for Washington County Board of Supervisors: Lisa Kramer, Jerry Kruse, Monte Tjelmeland, Steve Kruger and Dennis Zolck, Sr. Blair City Council candidate Kevin Willis. Washington County Clerk candidates Merry Truhlsen and Sarah Bryan.

The event begins at 6:00 pm on Monday, April 14, 2014 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church Social Hall. Re-Elect Senator Lydia Brasch Event a Success!
A very enthusiastic group of 80 supporters gathered for a fundraiser Monday evening to re-elect District #16 State Senator Lydia Brasch. The reception was held at the offices of Independent Technologies in Blair and featured the endorsement of Nebraska U.S. Senator Deb Fischer. The Washington County Republican Party held a Central Committee meeting attended by over 45 Republicans on Monday, January 20, 2014 at the American Legion in Ft. Calhoun. Speakers included candidate for Governor Pete Ricketts, U.S. Senate candidates Ben Sasse and Clifton Johnson along with Metro Community College Board candidate Jim Tribbien. 2014 WCRP County Convention Sign-Up Reminder!
REMINDER
The Republican Party Washington County Convention will be held within the first 10 (ten) days of June 2014. (TBD) The last day to file as a delegate is March 3rd, 2014 @ 5:00 pm.
The County Convention is a great way to get involved with the party. To participate, please file as a delegate by filling out the Washington County filing form here then stop into the Washington County Election Commission to sign your form in front of a notary. The form is also available at the following link: https://www.thewcrp.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/delegate14.pdf. We will also have forms and a Notary Public available at our January 20, 2014 meeting.
The Washington County Election Commissioner’s office is located at: 1555 Colfax Street, Blair, NE. Office hours are M-F 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
