The Washington County Republican Party held a meeting on February 2, 2021 at the American Legion in Ft Calhoun with 32 Republicans in attendance. It was energizing to see many new faces participating! Discussion centered around Senator Ben Hansen’s presentation and legislation currently working its way through Legislative Committees Nebraska’s 107th Legislature has had a total of 658 bills introduced and this year’s session is 90 days long. Other discussion included Metro Community College redistricting with Board member Adam Gotschall, Washington County Justice Center progress with Sheriff Mike Robinson and social media giants blatant censoring of Republicans and conservatives.

Please plan to join us for the WCRP Central Committee meeting on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 7PM. We will be getting a detailed update from Senator Ben Hansen on the Nebraska Legislature and bills for everything from Voter ID to property tax reduction.

The 2020 Washington County Republican Party fair booth is now set up and running. Please stop by and visit when you attend the Washington County Fair in Arlington, NE. We do have a limited number of hard-to-get Trump yard signs available upon request. Also have a “Trump selfie station” set up for fun photos with a full-size Trump cutout.

WCRP needs a few volunteers to help set up their 2020 Washington County Fair booth. Friday, July 24th @ 8am, meet on the fairgrounds.

Unfortunately, our executive team has made the tough decision to cancel the in person component of our 2020 State Convention because of circumstances arising from COVID-19. The Chairman is is in the process of finalizing the Rules Committee and will communicate updated protocols as they set at the earliest opportunity. 

I wanted to advise you of an upcoming deadline: if you wish to attend the 2020 Republican National Convention in Charlotte in August as a delegate or alternate, you must have your form submitted to the Secretary of State by 5:00 p.m. on May 4, 2020.
